Naruto Booster Pack 01: what the One Piece phenomenon can teach new collectors
Romance Dawn began with an approximately $100 retail reference per box. Today, sealed-box listings exceed $1,200. Its history helps explain the attention around Naruto’s first set—and what could make it memorable if the game builds a lasting community.

There is one collecting moment that cannot quite be recreated: the beginning. When Romance Dawn OP-01 reached shops in 2022, it was the first booster box of a new One Piece game. Almost four years later, some sealed boxes appear on eBay at four-figure asking prices. As NARUTO CARD GAME approaches launch, that history raises an intriguing question: what place could its first booster hold if the game develops a similarly enduring community?
Both projects share Bandai as publisher and characters familiar to generations of fans. Yet the interesting story is not simply the anime name. It is how a box intended to be opened and played can become a reminder of an entire collection’s origins.
The One Piece box with an approximately $100 starting reference

English Romance Dawn launched on December 2, 2022. Its box contains 24 packs of 12 cards: 288 random cards inside the packs, excluding extras such as the box topper. That does not guarantee 288 different cards or a complete set.
StockX records a $100 “Retail Price” for the English box. Separately, Bandai’s official page lists a $4.19 pack MSRP; 24 packs at that unit price total $100.56. The former is StockX’s retail reference, not a universal shop tariff; the latter is arithmetic, not a separately published official box MSRP.
Its first month already moved: $119.97 to $165.81
A contemporary record adds a more useful view of the actual launch market. The December 2022 TCGplayer report published by ICv2 on January 11, 2023 placed the box at $119.97 at the start of the month and $165.81 at the end. Calculated from those figures, that is approximately 38.2%.
Romance Dawn also ranked first for sealed-product dollar volume on that platform that December. Interest was visible during the debut month, not only in hindsight. These are TCGplayer market references, separate from recommended launch pricing.
What eBay sellers now ask for a 24-pack box
Searches checked on October 17, 2026 at 18:34 Madrid time show a substantial gap from those early references. These six examples concern English 24-pack boxes described as sealed and located in the United States:
- English white-bottom box · 24 packs: 1,249.00 USD · View listing.
- English white-bottom box · 24 packs: 1,355.00 USD · View listing.
- English white-bottom box · 24 packs: 1,450.00 USD · View listing.
- English blue-bottom box · 24 packs: 4,899.00 USD · View listing.
- English blue-bottom box · 24 packs: 5,290.00 USD · View listing.
- English blue-bottom box · 24 packs: 5,999.99 USD · View listing.
They are active asking prices, not verified completed sales. USD item prices exclude shipping, taxes and import costs. These examples are not a market average and may change after the check.
White-bottom and blue-bottom presentations must be separated. Both contain the same pack count, but the market distinguishes their packaging; sellers describe blue-bottom boxes as early printings. Higher asks should not be assigned to every OP-01 box. Seal condition, storage and provenance matter, and listings alone do not authenticate an item.
Why Naruto’s first booster could become a collecting landmark
Bandai has announced “Enter: NARUTO UZUMAKI!” for June 2027 alongside Naruto, Sasuke and Gaara Starter Decks. Its official NYCC presentation includes characters from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. For newcomers, familiar characters meet the opportunity to follow the catalogue from its opening chapter.
If the game develops over years, that release remains its starting point. A preserved box, an early pack or an album of the first cards can connect collectors with the beginning. The revealed Naruto, Sasuke, Jiraiya and Shikamaru artwork already gives this period a visual identity.
One Piece suggests what to watch: sustained play, active stores, expansions that keep people interested and collectors returning to early products. If demand for a particular presentation exceeds available supply, secondary prices can rise. That depends on the game’s actual development and how much product remains in circulation.
What remains unconfirmed about Naruto’s box

Some retailers already offer Naruto preorders as 24-pack boxes. However, Universe TCG’s information bases that configuration on other Bandai games. The official sources checked do not yet confirm packs per box, cards per pack or the first booster’s MSRP.
Thus, 24 packs is a retailer-advertised format here, not a final manufacturer specification. A Naruto equivalent of the blue-bottom edition is also unconfirmed. Official details will allow a proper comparison of launch quantities and regional prices.
Start with a collecting purpose
Choose what you want to preserve: favourite characters, a launch-set checklist or a sealed memento. Each is a different collecting goal with a different budget. Naruto’s success could strengthen interest in its first release, while plentiful production, restocks or weaker demand could keep prices accessible or push them down.
Owning the first set does not guarantee Romance Dawn’s economic trajectory, and opening packs does not guarantee recovering their cost through the cards inside. The useful lesson is more interesting than a promise: a box with an approximately $100 initial reference developed an active launch market and now has widely differing sealed presentations. Naruto is still before its opening chapter. For collectors who enjoy documenting a game’s beginning, that is the appeal.
